As Ram Dass said, “The quieter you become, the more you can hear.”

How much quiet time do you take? We are living in surround sound–from cars honking and people talking to the hum of a vibrating phone and the constant barrage of television and Internet media. While our ears get filled with noise, the mind gets distracted with a plethora of messages. What we really need to listen to–the still, small voice within–can often get drowned out. Take time to be quiet. Know when to hit the “pause” button so you can unplug, tune in and become familiar with peace. Practice techniques such as meditation, guided imagery and progressive muscle relaxation. Consciously pay attention to your breath and thoughts. Many studies show that mindfulness can have a positive effect on health, decision-making and fulfillment. As you consistently experience stillness and heighten your awareness in everyday activities, you will ease negative chatter, be more present, build resilience and spark intuitive insights that can transform your life.

Until next time, remember–it’s your divine life, live it to the fullest. The power is in your hands!

With Purpose & Power,

Terri
