GIVE BACK: One way to improve the state of the world is to mentor a young person. A number of studies have revealed a correlation between a young person’s involvement in a quality mentoring relationship and positive outcomes in the areas of school, mental health, problem behavior and health.

Corporate Social Responsibility
GIVE BACK: One way to get involved in improving the state of the world is to support or expand your company’s corporate social responsibility activities.
Start a Social Enterprise
GIVE BACK: One way to get involved in improving the state of the world is to start a social enterprise. As management guru Peter Drucker said, Non-profits do something very different from either business or government.
GIVE BACK: One way to get involved in improving the state of the world is to volunteer. There are so many opportunities to lend a hand and in the process learn. My own work with the American Heart Association has added immensely to my self-development. I’ve certainly received more than I’ve given. The key is to lead with your personal interests and passion. I started volunteering for AHA because I had so many family members affected by heart disease and stroke. If there is an issue you’re concerned about, focus on that.
The Power of… GIVING
GIVING. How generous are you? Do you give freely or are there usually strings attached? At a time when your bank account may be lower than last year and the stresses may be higher, it is even more important to understand the power of giving.
Donate or Make a Loan
GIVE BACK: One way to get involved in improving the state of the world is to donate to a worthy charity or make a micro-loan. Maybe you want to donate but don’t know where to direct the funds, or maybe you want to get into micro-lending. Small amounts can make a big difference.
GET INVOLVED… Whenever anyone says, “What can I do? I’m only one person,” I remind them of Gandhi’s insistence that personal change and the ability to bring about social change are linked. It starts at home with you. That is the essence of his often repeated quote: “You must be the change you wish to see in the world.” For him, it wasn’t a trite statement; it was a responsibility of the living. The PWR® – Purpose With Results® philosophy is based on discovering your own Life Purpose and then inspiring others through it.
