THE BUZZ: On Sunday, August 18th, 2012, I participated in the Breaking the Glass Ceiling Intimate Conversation with Agapi Stassinopoulos at Joanne Trattoria – the restaurant owned by Lady Gaga’s mother, Cynthia Germanotta. Cynthia stopped by to chat with us which was an additional treat. I must also say that the food was pretty good as well. They had a handful of vegetarian choices, which is something I’m always checking out!
We were with Agapi to celebrate her new book, Unbinding the Heart: A Dose of Greek Wisdom, Generosity, and Unconditional Love. Her mother named her appropriately – “agape” means love and Agapi has such a warm heart. Agapi speaks and conducts seminars worldwide empowering others to create the lives they want. With us, it was like girlfriends night out with the discussion focused more on love than anything else! While her sister, Arianna Huffington, was doing research for her book about Greek mythology Agapi’s love for the gods and goddesses was ignited and led to two books of her own – Conversations with the Goddesses and Gods and Goddesses in Love – as well as a one-woman show and PBS special. At age 18, Agapi entered the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London and later went on to earn her Master’s in Psychology from the University of Santa Monica. Her love of theatre comes out in her writing and speaking. Her presence simply makes you smile. Her new book is an engaging and quick read. If you want to be inspired, I highly recommend it.
