Sometimes the weight of life can seem heavy. You can either be crushed by it or learn how to carry the load. In the fall of 2016, I was traveling non-stop for my work with yoga master Tao Porchon-Lynch. At now almost 100 years old, she shows us how to live with vitality regardless of age. Dancing Light, the book we co-wrote (along with my mom Janie Sykes-Kennedy) won ten awards, and then Tao and I were featured in Athleta’s Power of She campaign. It’s been an exciting time. However, I’ve been experiencing a very strange dichotomy. In between amplifying Tao’s light, I have been fighting extreme darkness in the sunny state of Florida.

Gluten-Free Coconut Biscuits
Coconut Biscuits are my favorite for breakfast, brunch or anytime. They are quick and delicious… and also happen to be gluten-free, dairy-free, refined sugar-free and nut-free!! I’ve been gluten-free since 1997 so I’ve tested a wide range of recipes with different flours. If you’ve never baked with coconut flour, it helps to let it sit for a few minutes after mixing to allow it to expand and come together. It boasts dietary fiber and a bit of protein. Once the biscuits are out of the oven, I recommend eating them right away while hot. They probably won’t last anyway!
7 Health Secrets from 114-year-old Bernando LaPallo
How do you live well into your second century? 114-year-old Bernando LaPallo, Jr. has some suggestions. Looking at his supple skin and hearing him talk, you may guess that he is perhaps around 70 years old–if that. He has a cane but hardly uses it as he vibrantly saunters through the room with a healthy dose of charm and charisma. I met him when he was honored at the 4th Annual Senior Awards in Phoenix, Arizona on September 25, 2015 where 97-year-old Tao Porchon-Lynch also received an award.
