Listen to this week’s message:
As legendary dancer and choreographer Martha Graham said, “Nobody cares if you can’t dance well. Just get up and dance. Great dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their passion.”
How passionate are you about life? Called the “Picasso of Dance,” Martha Graham spurred the professional modern dance movement and was described as having a “vividness and intensity” of purpose that was potent. She wanted her movements to be “fraught with inner meaning, with excitement and surge.” She created a language using the human body that was bold and full of passion. She danced into her 70s and choreographed until she died in 1991 at the age of 96. The “Graham technique” is taught around the world and her 181 masterpiece dance compositions are still performed today. In the spirit of Martha Graham, get up and dance. Seek to be fully expressed in this lifetime. Choose work that is fulfilling and people who make you smile. Put your heart into everything you do and move to your own rhythm. Whatever your “dance of life” is, have fun. Even if you are not technically proficient or considered “an expert,” let your passion shine through. You have a special invitation to the party so don’t hold back. Make up your own moves and leave it all on the dance floor. Your energy and unique style may end up influencing others for generations to come.
Until next time, remember-it’s your divine life, live it to the fullest. The power is in your hands!
With Purpose & Power,
Terri
