Listen to this week’s message:
As Walt Disney said: “All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.”
What do you love? As a child, Walter Elias Disney developed an interest in drawing when a neighbor paid him to sketch pictures of his horse. Walt would copy cartoons from the newspaper and also became fascinated by motion pictures. In high school, he was the cartoonist for the school newspaper and took night courses in art. At sixteen, he dropped out to enlist in the army but was rejected for being too young. After a year in France with the Red Cross, he got a series of jobs back in Kansas creating advertisements and making commercials based on cut-out animation. That prompted him to become an animator eventually opening his own company, Laugh-O-Grams. His cartoons, and unique combination of live action and animation, were popular in Kansas City but the overhead-heavy business went bankrupt. Then, Walt and his brother Roy pooled their meager money and moved to the movie-making capital, Hollywood. With creativity and determination, Walt Disney Productions became one of the best-known motion-picture production companies in the world with Walt’s cartoon Mickey Mouse as its calling card. In the spirit of Disney, build your castle. Have the courage to step out on faith and pursue what’s in your heart. Take the vision that’s in your head and work doggedly to make it a reality. Life is not a fairy tale but with belief and focused action your dreams can come true.
Until next time, remember–it’s your divine life, live it to the fullest. The power is in your hands!
With Purpose & Power,
