Make A Commitment

As Denise Brennan-Nelson said, “Someday is not a day of the week.”

How committed are you to your goals? As a coach I listen to language and can tell how committed a person is to something. A vague statement, such as “I may try that one day,” usually indicates a low priority. It is a want versus a longing. If you find yourself in that mode, perhaps you should question your true level of engagement in relation to the desired outcome. You may say you want to be healthy and then constantly put aside exercise. Perhaps you think it would be nice to write a book but haven’t outlined it yet. If you want to succeed at anything, make a commitment. Understand your “Motivating Why?” Set S.M.A.R.T. goals–Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time-specific. If you are intentional and take consistent action, you will whittle down the “To Do” list so what may have been “someday” becomes today.

Until next time, remember – it’s your divine life, live it to the fullest. The power is in your hands!
