Listen to this week’s message:
As acclaimed actress and activist Ruby Dee said, “The kind of beauty I want most is the hard-to-get kind that comes from within – strength, courage, dignity.”
How deep is your glow? Ruby Dee cut her acting chops during America’s segregated years and then became beloved in theatre, film and the world stage. She had a long illustrious career and, together with her husband Ossie Davis, showed a staying power that was exceptional. At age 91, she still seemed to have a refreshing combination of inherent wisdom and a youthful spark. She is an example of true beauty. Even if you have incredible genes, looks can fade over time – or, at best, weather a bit. No cream or lotion can make you as radiant as the light that shines from within. It can literally appear to smooth surface wrinkles. So, in the spirit of Ruby Dee, be deeply beautiful. Hold your head high but never look down on anybody. Speak your mind yet strive to be kind. Learn from your mistakes and then move on. Continually seek to become a better version of yourself reflecting compassion on other people’s journeys. Lead with love and your real beauty will sparkle from deep down within your soul illuminating your path and all those around you.
Until next time, remember – it’s your divine life, live it to the fullest. The power is in your hands!
With Purpose & Power,
Terri
