THE BUZZ…

On October 10th, 2009, my sister and I participated in The HistoryMakers Smokey Robinson taping for PBS. The HistoryMakers records both well-known and unsung stories of African Americans along with organizations, events, movements and periods of time that are significant to the African American community. Honorary Co-Chairs of the event include Clarence Avant, the Honorable Richard & Maggie Daley, Quincy Jones, Vernon & Ann Jordan, The Honorable Colin & Alma Powell, Linda Johnson Rice and John Rogers, Jr. My family has known Smokey since before I was born – he was the best man at my cousin Leon and Jayne’s wedding in the 70s. It was great to see him and also Howard Hewitt who sang beautifully.
