Women of Distinction Award Ceremony

March 27, 2008 * THE BUZZ… Tonight, I attended the Second Annual Women of Distinction Award Ceremony hosted by the New York Regional Chapter of the National Association of Health Services Executives. It was held at Sylvia’s Restaurant in Harlem.

The event honored two of my supporters and yoga students, Vickie Powell at Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital and Patricia Butts, First Lady of Abyssinian Baptist Church. These are two women of true character and distinction. Both work tirelessly to promote healthy living in Harlem and the African American community at large. I am extremely honored to call them friends, and I’m constantly inspired by their spirits.

Ask yourself: What kind of character am I building? As Henry David Thoreau said:

You cannot dream yourself into a character;
you must hammer and forge yourself one.

With Purpose & Power,

Terri
