THE BUZZ: On October 16, 2014, I attended the First Annual Silicon Harlem Conference. Silicon Harlem is focused on transforming Harlem into a technology and innovation hub. The event brought together Harlem’s own leaders such as Congressman Charles Rangel (U.S. Representative for New York’s 13th Congressional District) and Gale Brewer (Manhattan Borough President) as well as other national influencers such as Dr. Frances Colon (Deputy Science and Technology Advisor to the Secretary of State).
THE BUZZ: On Saturday, March 30th, 2013, I attended the 2013 Women of Distinction Spirit Awards Luncheon hosted by the Greater New York Chapter of The Links. It was held at Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers. The honorees this year included Jo Ann Jenkins, COO of AARP and President of the AARP Foundation and Dr. Lorraine Madry, Senior Program Director for Domestic Violence Services, Urban Women’s Retreat. The event had a wonderful turnout and was capped off by a Spring fashion show put together by Laurita Shields.
POWER LIVING TV: In Power Living® with Dr. Terri Kennedy, get wellness tips and experience the kickoff launch of “Wellness Week” in New York on September 16th, 2011. Dr. Kennedy offered a motivational charge to participants at the Harlem State Office Building Plaza to commit to a healthy lifestyle.
