THE BUZZ: Thursday, May 16th, 2013 was my birthday. I won’t say exactly how old I turned but I will say that I’m happy to see another year! I spent the day with one of my favorite people, Tao Porchon-Lynch. We went to the Taj Palace in White Plains which has delicious Indian food.
Having lunch with Tao is like sitting in the middle of a classic movie… you know, one of those films with Cary Grant or Grace Kelly. You’re transported to places like France and India and hear personal stories about people like Gandhi and Ernest Hemingway. It’s quite magical.
The night before I was beginning to lament that I was turning a certain age. I was actually in disbelief! I don’t actually look or feel that age… but what does that mean anyway? What does a particular chronological age supposed to look and feel like?
When I was sitting across from Tao, who is about to turn 95, everything was put into perspective. It made me simply grateful to be me – alive and full of energy. That’s what I call, the Tao Effect.
