On Wednesday, June 17th, I attended the HOPE Global Financial Literacy Summit in Washington, D.C. sponsored by Operation HOPE. The Summit showcased business leaders from around the world and made a strong business case for financial literacy. The keynote speaker was U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, and other prominent speakers included FDIC Chair Sheila Bair, civil rights icon Ambassador Andrew Young, Dr. Dorothy Height, Congressman Elijah Cummings, Daniel Heath of the International Monetary Fund, Valerie Jarrett, among others.
