THE BUZZ: If you are a film fan, the Run & Shoot Filmworks Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival is the place to be. Founded by husband and wife team Floyd A.B. Rance III and Stephanie T. Rance, the festival is in its twelfth year and presents features, documentaries, shorts and webisodes from African-American filmmakers.

THE BUZZ: On Tuesday, September 17, 2013 I attended Mo & Me: A Film Screening and Conversation at Tribeca Cinemas. Salim Amin, Chip Duncan and Riz Khan were on hand as speakers. I met fellow Young Global Leader Salim Amin a few years ago at the World Economic Forum meeting in Africa. This film is the powerful story of his father, Mohamed “Mo” Amin – undoubtedly Africa’s greatest photojournalist.

IMPRESSIONS: This is not really a mini-escape- simply a strange phenomenon. I was quietly writing and then heard this in my backyard… over 100 birds gathering. It reminded me of the Alfred Hitchcock movie, “The Birds.”
