Harlem Go Red For Women 2013
THE BUZZ: On Saturday, June 29th, 2013, I participated in the Harlem Go Red For Women Educational Forum at The City College of New York.
The Power of… PARTNERSHIP
PARTNERSHIP. Are you a loner or a connector? What type of genuine partnerships have you formed in your life? I was a tom-boy athlete growing up. I ran track, swam and did gymnastics competitively and was successful at winning many medals. Although I was technically on a “team”, I realize now that in all of those sports the final result was really determined by my individual performance. Except for in a relay race, I wasn’t really dependent on the other members like with sports such as football or basketball.
Donate or Make a Loan
GIVE BACK: One way to get involved in improving the state of the world is to donate to a worthy charity or make a micro-loan. Maybe you want to donate but don’t know where to direct the funds, or maybe you want to get into micro-lending. Small amounts can make a big difference.
The Power of… CONVICTION
CONVICTION. Do you stand up for what you believe in? Do you even know what you believe in? In this column, I would like to honor Jesse Hill, Jr., who died on December 17, 2012 at the age of 86. My mentor, who was like a second dad, he is an incredible example of a true PWR Broker.
