As Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said: “Peace is not merely a distant goal that we seek, but a means by which we arrive at that goal.”

What behavior are you modeling? Some people have the operating mode, ‘do what I say, not what I do.’ That principle doesn’t really work well with human beings. We tend to mirror each other. For example, if you say to someone “calm down” but your verbal tone is elevated then the other person is likely to step up the volume. Sometimes the easiest way to shift the energy in a relationship or environment is to model the behavior you desire to see. If you seek peace, model peace. Don’t just try to simply be right. Earnestly seek to understand. Be open-minded. Even if you don’t agree with the other person, still be relaxed in your demeanor. When you align your behavior with your intention, you are more likely to achieve the desired outcome.

Until next time, remember – it’s your divine life, live it to the fullest. The power is in your hands!

With Purpose & Power,

Terri
