As Jimi Hendrix said: “When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace.”

How do you use your power? Our world is built on institutional power structures – from governmental and educational systems to religious organizations. Power in itself is not bad. It is the intention and attachment to it that corrupts. When it is driven by fear, hate or greed, it can be an agent of destruction. If you want to transform this world, use power to serve. At its most basic level, power is the ability or capacity to get things done. If you have position power, use it to harness resources for economic and social impact, and hold others – and yourself – accountable for the responsibility that comes with being an influencer. If you have a lot of personal followers, lead them to stimulate change and amplify that which is good. Even if you disagree with a stance, let peace be a beacon. Be a force for good, seeking not to possess or control but to inspire and fuel positive action.

Until next time, remember – it’s your divine life, live it to the fullest. The power is in your hands!

With Purpose & Power,

Terri
