THE BUZZ: On Friday, May 6th and Saturday, May 7th, I participated in the American Heart Association’s Power Weekend in New York. As a National Spokesperson for the Association, I gave welcome remarks at the VIP Reception and introduced AHA’s President – Neurologist Ralph Sacco, M.D.
I then attended the 5th Annual “You Are The Power Concert” featuring Chrisette Michele at the famous Apollo Theater in Harlem. She did a touching acapella song which showed the depth of her voice. The event also included brilliant performances by Brian Courtney Wilson, Trin-i-tee 5:7 and the Most Powerful Voices Contest Competition winners. I was a National Award recipient in 2009 and each year it seems to get better and better!
On Saturday, Mathew Knowles was the featured speaker at the Ambassador Luncheon. He was very down-to-earth, giving us his own secrets to success. He reminded us that before he became known as Beyonce’s dad, he was actually a successful salesman!
